Research on RTS and more recently on MOBA games has known an increasing interest in the last 10 years, in particular with AI for playing RTS and MOBA games. This is thanks to a combination of available APIs, AI competitions and the grand challenge these strategy games offer. Beyond AI playing games, the Game AI community also started to tackle other aspects of RTS and MOBA games, such as game design and procedural generation.
This 1-day special session aims to bring together Game AI researchers, Game AI programmers and Game designers from industry who are interested in RTS and MOBA games. The goal is to present and share ideas about how AI can contribute to improve RTS and MOBA mechanical opponents, NPCs, design, balance, map generation, assistance AI, matchmaking, game tutorial, etc.
